SALARY: $38,348 - $48,783

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Our Daily Bread Employment Center (ODBEC) is currently seeking a Trainer, Job Readiness who is responsible for providing employment counseling and training services to support Catholic Charities programs. The role assists clients in achieving their employment goals using a coaching model. The position monitors the client’s transition through various phases of the employment process to obtain and maintain full-time employment or part-time employment when appropriate. Works as part of the employment services team and assists with job matching by providing profiles of W4Success students and Christopher Place (CP) residents to placement managers. Acts as case worker to assist with removing barriers for the W4Success candidates. To ensure results, this individual will recruit candidates. This individual assists the Program Manager in developing and revising the workforce development curriculum based on current trends. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (occasional weekends/evenings for recruitment events).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services, Human Resources, Business, Education or related field and a minimum of 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous training or case management or related experience required. Bi-lingual a plus.
- Must be able to travel to different locations for meeting or training. If driving on agency business, must have a valid driver’s license with no more than 3 points. Must have visual and hearing acuity and clear speech sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job efficiently. Ability to work flexible schedules (nights and weekends) as needed and be accessible by phone during both work and non-scheduled hours.

Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training
- Works cooperatively with all Program Managers within ODBEC and with other internal and external programs to ensure training expectations are met.
- Responsible for conducting on-going W4Sucess training throughout various programs within Catholic Charities.
- Ensure that the content of the curriculum meets established program goals.
- Provide instruction to clients in résumé writing, job search, and interviewing techniques as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of labor markets and workforce development for low-income clients to keep curriculum up to date.
- Recruit through job fairs and various community events for the W4Success class to ensure 10+ clients per class.
- Work collaboratively with Job Placement Specialist to ensure job placement and retention.
- Track recruitment outcomes and monthly performance metrics
OTHER DUTIES
- Return calls and emails within 24 hours.
- During weeks without a class, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., assist in the computer lab and recruit in the afternoon.
- Possess knowledge of and comply with mission, commitments, philosophy, policies, and procedures of Catholic Charities and ODBEC in all matters related to employment.
- Provide hospitality to all ODBEC visitors and treat all clients with dignity and respect.
- Works as a member of the ODEBC team in collaboration with all other ODBEC employees and volunteers to deliver the highest quality services to all clients.
- Possess a working knowledge of all services provided at ODBEC.
- Participate in meetings and trainings as requested, to include substance abuse, health, and mental health sensitivity training.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Support the Volunteer Manager when needed.
