Description:
Position Description:
This position serves as lead for training staff, and is responsible for personally overseeing the performance of driver trainers. Coordinates planning, developing, and delivering training to potential school bus drivers and transportation employees in vehicle operation, safety procedures and practices, district, state, federal policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
Special Requirements: (Certification, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
1. Associates degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
2. Understanding of mapping and routing systems used.
3. Presentation and training skills
4. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in pupil transportation or driver instruction.
5. Knowledge of laws, codes, rules, policies and regulations relating to pupil transportation.
6. Strong understanding and history of successful customer service and ability to establish and maintain effective relations with patrons and staff.
7. Effective oral and written communications; analytical ability, and knowledge and skill in the use of office technology and office software.
8. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively.
9. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
10. Possess a Commercial Driver’s License and posses a safe driving record.
11. Possess or is able to obtain and maintain “Third Party Tester” certification from DMV.
12. Possess or be able to obtain in a timely manner a State School Bus Driver’s Certificate and appropriate licensing endorsement.
13. Core instructor qualified.
14. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
15 This position is subject to random drug testing under Department of Transportation guidelines and in compliance with District Anti-drug and alcohol prevention programs.
