Description:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Government of Canada Security clearance at Secret or higher.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Cybersecurity operations, preferably in a Government of Canada military environment.
  • Ability travel to various Canadian Training centres required.
  • Professional certification in Cybersecurity and cloud technologies, such as CISSP,
  • CCSP, CISM, SANS, AWS, Azure Sentinel, etc.
  • Proficient in DLP and other Cybersecurity technologies, tools, and frameworks
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity standards, regulations, and best practices, such as
  • ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, GDPR, CMMC, etc.
  • Familiarity with security tools and services, such as Sentinel, AWS Security
  • Hub, Azure Security Center, etc.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in both English and French
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex security problems
  • Ability to fill in other roles and duties as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (asset)

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a CAE D&S Canada - Cybersecurity Operations Specialist some of your duties that you will be
responsible for include working and managing various cyber technologies, reviewing, and
approving security requests, analyzing, and improving security tools and controls,
creating security reports and metrics, working as subject matter experts (SMEs) in
incident response and investigations, and providing security support as required for our
client training centres in Canada.
As a Cybersecurity Operations Specialist, you will have a strong background in
information security, network security, and cybersecurity best practices. You will also
have excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will work
closely with other security professionals, IT staff, and business stakeholders to ensure
the security and compliance of our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and maintain DLP policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, or destruction of data
  • Manage and configure various cyber technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus, encryption, VPN, SIEM, IDS/IPS, etc.
  • Review and approve security requests, such as privileged access rights, firewall rules, software installation, etc.
  • Analyze and improve security tools, processes, and controls to enhance the security posture and performance of our network and systems
  • Create and update security reports, dashboards, and metrics to measure and communicate the effectiveness of security operations
  • Monitor and audit security configurations and compliance using Azure
  • Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, security tools maintain security policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Provide cloud security guidance and best practices to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work as SMEs in incident response, providing technical guidance, coordination,

and support to respond to and recover from security incidents

  • Provide security support for our clients, such as conducting security assessments, audits, tests, and reviews, and providing security recommendations and solutions
  • Research and stay updated on the latest Cybersecurity trends, threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
  • Participate in security awareness and training programs for staff and clients
