Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
We currently have an opportunity for a Training & Checking Air Crew Officer to join the organisation to be a key member of CareFlight’s Aviation Rotary Wing Technology team, to assist the Head of Training and Checking, the Chief Air Crew Officer and Rotary Wing Fleet Manager with the management of training for ACO’s.
In this role key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Holding a recognised TCACO qualification with a recognised Part 133 operator.
- Ensure that all matters pertaining to TCACO duties are undertaken according to CareFlight’s policy and procedures.
- Ensure rostered training shifts are conducted as required by the roster.
- Undertake shifts at locations as required by the roster.
- Ensure secondary non-flying duties are undertaken as allocated from time-to-time by HOTC-RW.
- Undergo ACO training, as required or requested by the HOTC-RW and CACO.
- Media liaison is to be undertaken only at the direction of Media, Communications & Marketing management.
- Maintain aviation operational proficiency and fitness is to be maintained as stipulated by CareFlight.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Minimum 1000 hours as a helicopter ACO / winch operator.
- Previous HEMS / SAR experience.
- Qualifications on AW139 / B412 / BK117 and H145
- Current TCACO qualification with an Australian Part 133 MTO.
- Winch / rappel competency in accordance with CASRs.
- Sound understanding of CASRs pertaining to the ACO role within a RW operation.
- Front Left-Hand ACO experience.
- NVIS competency in accordance with IAW Parts 91, 138 and 133 MOS.
- Certificate IV in Aviation (Aircrewman).
- CASA Class 2 Medical.
- Willingness to deploy at reasonable notice for limited periods.
- Demonstrated experience working in small specialist teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of and competency with CRM, Risk Management and Safety Management Systems.
- Demonstrated competencies with computing systems such as Word, Excel, and iPad Flight Planning applications.
- Current HUET / EBS Qualification
