Description:

A motivated, self-starting individual is sought to fulfil the exciting and varied role of a professional development Training Manager for the Team Research “Teams Build Dreams” training programme. The programme’s aim is to equip the university staff and postgraduate community (collectively “the community”) with the requisite hard and soft skills to be able to work collaboratively across domains and disciplines in diverse, interdisciplinary teams.

The programme’s objectives are to:

  • Develop the community’s interdisciplinary and collaboration skills, to enable them to implement established team research (TR) principles in their multidisciplinary projects.
  • Increase awareness of TR and its value in delivering research and promoting an inclusive culture.
  • Evaluate the impact and reach of the programme to inform future areas of focus and sustainability.
  • Develop Manchester’s reputation for TR application and expertise internally and externally.

The post holder will design, manage, administer and deliver a range of educational activities for university staff (academic and non-academic) and post-graduates working with a small supportive energetic team of colleagues. They will act as the key liaison interface for driving engagement with and recruitment to events and courses, working in partnership with existing initiatives such as the Research Development and Staff Development Programmes.
