We’re currently looking for a Training Specialist, Emergency Response to join our External Training team. These subject matter experts work to educate and prepare our clients for the possibility of an emergency. The nationally recognized education and training H2Safety provides increases our clients’ awareness of hazards and enhances their confidence and preparedness in managing emergency situations.

BONUS EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) Level 100, 200, or 300
  • Certified to instruct Incident Command System (ICS) Level 100 or 200
  • Completion of an Adult Education certification and/or knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Experience developing new training content and/or working in a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Emergency response experience, understanding of emergency response plans (ERPs), and/or knowledge of emergency response related legislation, regulations, and compliance
  • Oil and gas knowledge / industry work experience

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients, H2Safety departments, and the External Training team to identify and assess training requirements and objectives
  • Develop quality training exercises that consistently meet and comply with relevant stakeholders’ (i.e., clients, internal departments, and regulatory agencies) requirements, objectives, and standards
  • Coordinate with various regulatory and government agencies on regulated exercises
  • In the process of becoming, or working to become, an emergency response subject matter expert; accurately and professionally respond to inquiries related to training curriculum, course content, regulatory requirements, software, etc.
  • Effectively plan, develop, and deliver emergency response-based training exercises (virtual and in-person) including, but not limited to:
  • Emergency Response Plan (ERP) orientation and exercises, roles and responsibilities, and public safety actions
  • Tabletop & Full Mobilization exercises to meet Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), British Columbia Energy Regulator (BCER), Ministry of Energy and Resources (MER), Canada Energy Regulator (CER), and Environment Canada requirements
  • Certified Incident Command System (ICS) Level 200 Instructor
  • H2Safety’s suite of emergency response software products
  • Prepare a regulatory compliant summary for each exercise and submit it to the client and applicable regulatory agencies, as required
  • Assist in the design, development, and review of training curriculums, manuals, job aids, and reference sheets; make recommendations for improvements, as needed
  • Maintain detailed training records for attendance, course completion, skill level attainments, progress, and status
  • Collaborate with relevant H2Safety departments and clients on course effectiveness and quality
  • Remain up to date on the latest training techniques, delivery methods, and trends
  • Maintain knowledge of new and updated legislation, regulations, and compliance standards
  • Gain a thorough understanding of H2Safety services and our clients’ needs
