Description:

Job Summary
The Training Specialist is responsible for executing and maintaining an adequate training program that ensures all members of the operations team can properly perform their duties as assigned with a special focus on new hires and new production line startups. The Training Specialist gathers and analyzes information to determine learning needs, evaluates and audits training programs, records, and materials as well as trainee performance. The Training Specialist facilitates and delivers internal learning solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute work instruction trainings for all programs to comply with safety, quality, and production requirements
  • Provide training material(s), which meets specific requested/ required requirements, including “train the trainer” when needed
  • Analyze production processes and data to determine training needs and support the HR Manager and Operations Manager in the development of applicable training materials
  • Provide in depth training reports and track the progress of training to HR Manager
  • Assist HR Manager to analyze the learning curriculum effectiveness through various evaluations of employee performances
  • Assist with scheduling and document completion of the new hire orientation / on boarding process
  • Provide reporting metrics to Operations, Human Resources and Program Management, as required
  • Identify employee learning needs within facility and work with Human Resources and Operations leadership to execute
  • Retain training records and hourly employee evaluations
  • Collaborate with the team to assess, design, develop and maintain training solutions and components as a support to the Human Resources Manager
  • Prioritize, facilitate, and adhere to Nammo’s safety culture and policies
  • Make recommendations to Management/Supervisors to improve operations
  • Be proactive in resolving issues and drive training initiatives independently or within a team environment

Requirements, Education & Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • High School diploma or GED Required, Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Strong background in production environment
  • Comfortable talking in front of a group as well as one-on-one with an individual
  • Able to give and receive feedback effectively
  • Demonstrated success in developing learning curriculum
  • Strong motivational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation and classroom management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • Is an active listener
  • Prior training, teaching or presentation experience or previous experience as a trainer preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work in different areas as required by training needs
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in manufacturing is required
  • Knowledge of explosives and pyrotechnical operations and/ or experience working with and around hazardous chemicals/environments preferred
