Description:

We are currently hiring for the position of Training Team Lead for the Ottawa International Airport.
Reporting directly to the Training Manager, The Training Team Leader will actively participate in various training initiatives such as participating in Screening Officer Foundations Program (SOF), conducting On the Job Training (OJT), and assisting with delivery of training to screening officers requiring re-certifications and other GARDA training program.
A Training Team Leader is responsible for delivering training to screening officers following the parameters prescribed by CATSA. This position also includes: coaching, mentoring and assisting in recertification or infiltration testing, providing support in delivering GARDA Internal training.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of Screening Officer experience (PBS)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • HBS and NPS qualifications
  • Achieved 90% on National X-Ray Exam
  • Achieved 90% on PBS RLP Knowledge Exam
  • Free from any CATSA PERs within the last year
  • Ability to coach, correct and mentor Screening Officers
  • Able to deliver an effective training seminar
  • Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Consistent with the professional appearance standards
  • Possesses a good performance and absenteeism record with both CATSA and GardaWorld
  • Flexible to work within a 24/7 operation in which schedules could change on a weekly basis as per training requirements
  • Have a clean criminal record & eligible to obtain a RAIC (security clearance)

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers on-the-job GardaWorld and CATSA-mandated training such as but not limited to: requisite post-course practical training and refresher courses, Performance Improvement and Performance Expectation Plans (PIP/PER) and training requirements, and other security and customer service training (e.g., practice sessions).
  • Monitors tests and assessments related to all elements of CATSA’s NTCP program, and GardaWorld skills development sessions.
  • Supervises Screening Personnel participation in practical skill development sessions.
  • Implements training for new operating procedures and supports new hire orientation training.
  • Manages and delivers individual training improvement plans.
  • Provides Checkpoint & Oversight Support where required.
  • Providers recommendations on certification maintenance.
  • Develops rapport and creditability within screening officer population to increase effectiveness of training interactions.
  • Demonstrates positive partnership with our client to support training programs.
