Description:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent required in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, International Affairs, or similar field.
- Good Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. Understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis. Some experience in performing financial modeling.
- Strong written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Aptitude to teamwork as the position requires collaborative attitude and effective (and sometime spontaneous) back-up within the Structuring & Portfolio Group.
- Resilient and committed, able to deliver within tight deadlines and under pressure. Self-starter, able to work independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years experience in transaction banking, credit or the equivalent.
- Familiarity with the Colombian market and Colombian corporate clients.
- Familiarity with working in a large, international organization.
- Commitment to identifying, supporting and executing sustainable finance transactions.
Responsibilities:
Reports to the Head of GTS Structuring Americas and regionally, to the Head of Hispanic Latin America. On a day to day basis, the person will work under supervision of experienced GTS Structuring officers and work closely with the GTS Trade Managers supporting their Sales activities in the region. Responsibilities will span business across the Hispanic Latin America portfolio of new & existing business, with a particular focus on Mexico and Colombia, and will provide support in the following areas:
Marketing support: Contribute to GTS products development initiatives, identification of incremental sales opportunities, preparation of sector/client strategic plans, pitches, research / analysis of market trends within the trade finance industry.
Structuring support: focusing on more complex GTS transactions - draft term sheets, propose / assess structuring features and collateral packages, run pricing / GRR (group recovery rate) models.
Credit: focusing on annual reviews or more complex transactions - prepare RWA (assets) return metrics for management’s green-light, write transaction support memo, manage the GTS interaction during the credit process jointly with the relevant Coverage team, and interface with Senior Credit Officers and Credit delegation holders to explain structures.
Execution: from credit approval to closing, complete all transaction execution tasks, i.e. negotiation of legal documentation, interaction with distribution & insurance colleagues, explanation of structure to Transaction Support, Middle Office, Operations, etc.
- Portfolio Management: Liaise with relevant functions to support or monitor performance and risk indicators for GTS-Americas portfolio activity in the region.
- Client interaction: follow-up regarding credit-related activity, ESG strategy, legal documentation, deal structuring related to the product at hand, etc. (level of engagement will depend on the experience and seniority of the Structuring employee hired)
