BUILDING PRINCIPAL/SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT HEAD/TRANSITION COORDINATOR

Summary:
DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM:
The Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction (SDLMI) is an evidence-based program that supports students in building self-determination—a predictor of postschool success for students with disabilities. The SDLMI?Transition supports students to learn to self-regulate the process of setting transition-focused goals, create plans to attain those goals, and evaluate progress on their goals. The SDLMI?Transition with Mentoring adds an additional mentoring component to support students in developing postschool goals, conducting community resource mapping, building key transition skills that are known predictors of postschool success, and completing critical transition activities aligned with their identified postschool goals.
THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR MTRS CONTRIBUTION WITH PROPER DESE LICENSURE. DESE LICENSURE IS NOT REQUIRED HOWEVER LICENSED APPLICANTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. SALARY AND COMPENSATION WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
- Attend in-person and virtual trainings during Fall 2024.
- Coordinate with external study partners to schedule and complete implementation activities.
- Deliver small group instruction and 1:1 mentoring following program materials during the Spring and summer of 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 Semesters.
- Communicate with students’ families to support student-family transition planning activities during the Spring and summer of 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 Semesters.
- Monitor and use approved behavior management techniques in the supervision of youth’s behavior.
