Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As a Transmission Stations Electrical Fitter/Electrician, you’ll be able to communicate confidently and have a great eye for detail. You will be a part of an experienced team to construct and maintain electrical equipment to customer requirements in a substation environment. This role will report to the Delivery Manager - Construction and Scheduling and will be based at our Rotorua Depot.

The key responsibility for this position includes, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out prescribed electrical work according to regulations
  • Need to perform callouts and maintenance duties as a lone worker, with a travel between 28 regional substation
  • Inspecting, fault finding and defect elimination on HV and LV electrical equipment
  • Accurate record-keeping and reporting of the works undertaken
  • Identify potential issues and provide effective solutions to recover from setbacks
  • Conduct job scoping and planning with accuracy
  • Assist with repair and maintenance activities and identify potential problems and solutions to recover from any setbacks

To be successful in this role, you will also have some of the following skills:

  • Experience in 11KV to 220KV Substation Construction or Maintenance is desirable
  • Certificate in or working towards Electrical Engineering is an advantage
  • EWRB Registration
  • Preferably working at height competencies and experience heavy industry & construction type skill set
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics & diagrams
  • Experience with isolating and switching HV & LV network systems
  • Be a registered electrician with a current practicing licence
  • Able to cope with the physical demands of the job and has a strong commitment to health and safety
  • New Zealand driver’s licenc
