SALARY: £31,365 PER ANNUM

Job Description
We are currently seeking a Transport Coordinator to join our Transport team at our Minworth site. As a Transport Coordinator you will effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers’ hours legislation.

As a Transport Coordinator you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:

  • Significant knowledge & experience of tachograph/ driving rules and regulations.
  • CPC National desirable but not essential.
  • Previous management/ supervisory experience.
  • Attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy.
  • Negotiating skills, ability to influence and steer.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Adaptable and methodical approach to work/training.
  • Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage and plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times and client SLA’s.
  • Liaising with the shunting operation covering pre loading and unloading operation.
  • Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
  • Optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers’ hours legislation.
  • Using the Driver rota, planning runs according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness.
  • Controlling equipment through sign in/sign out procedure.
  • Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT’s, etc.
  • Investigate all incidents of fleet damage, RTI’s and escalate to line managers for further support.
  • Ensuring any risk assessments at the depot are organised and carried out accordingly.
  • Ensuring all accidents/incidents/near misses are logged and reported in line with company procedures.
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc.
  • Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, adhering to all health & safety/ safe systems of work.
  • Pre Brief and Debrief of all drivers ensuring company standards are maintained and adhered to.
