Description:

We currently have an opportunity for a Transport Planner / Senior Transport Planner to join our busy South West Transport Planning team, based in either Bristol or Taunton, on a permanent basis.The role would suit a transport planner with a broad understanding of all elements of the transport planning profession ideally with a focus on transport planning for land development projects but with the ability to work on public sector commissions as well.
Our Bristol office is based in the in the beautiful Queen Square, at the heart of the city centre - just a short walk away from the stunning harbourside and Temple Meads train station.Our Taunton office is located on the outskirts of the thriving County town with excellent access to the beautiful Somerset countryside and nearby beaches and coastline.
We are fortunate to work with excellent clients on some of the region’s most exciting projects. We are involved in various major development projects in the South West region including Gravity Smart Campus, The Vale, Bristol Airport and Wisloe Garden Community to name but a few. Stantec has also been successful in recently securing a place on the West of England Combined Authorities (WECA) framework and in retaining a position on the Homes England framework. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects from larger and more complex strategic land development proposals through to smaller sites, in addition to strategic infrastructure delivery and public sector commissions. This role will enable you to develop your transport planning skills and abilities alongside our broader multi-disciplinary offering.
On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for supporting technical output of transportation project teams. You will be involved in the production of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, a variety of transport studies and associated technical analysis work, plus supporting the South West transport team on our range of projects. You will liaise with clients, design teams, local authorities and the general public and will play an important role in the mentoring and development of junior members of the team.
