Description:

The Transport Supervisor will be responsible for all staff members and department deliverables related to the transportation section of the Transport and Logistics Department. The Transport Supervisor will manage the provision of efficient transportation distribution services to personnel as well as overseeing the loading and unloading, movement and transportation of goods.
The Transport Supervisor will be required to provide timely advice to department management on all issues to local transportation support and liaise with a range of stakeholders, contact employees and vendors on a daily basis through the course of their daily duties.
This position may require response to staffing changes or Site events occurring outside of normal working hours

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate in Logistics/Transport Operations

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – MINIMUM ESSENTIAL

  • Experience in transportation roles
  • Leadership and Management
  • Knowledge of Transport Regulations

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English
  • Australian or US citizen

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for team of Transport specialists including both day and shift workers, this may include after-hours coordination of shift coverages due to personnel absences or management of interruption to Site events
  • Creation and management of bus rosters covering all required runs including alternating schedules for public holidays and other instances as required
  • Coordination of transport requirements for special events
  • Prepare loads for transportation within regulatory guidance
  • Conduct basic pre-inspections of vehicles ensure vehicle are road worthy, report any and all faults to transport supervisor, carry out basic maintenance on vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements
  • Maintain tracking of all appropriate licenses and endorsements for all Site employees as required and ensure equipment is not operated with an expired or revoked license or endorsement
  • Maintain tracking of all appropriate licenses and endorsements for Transport specialists and provide training or upskilling where relevant
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition, ensuring registration and insurance requirements are met
  • Maintain records of registration and insurance for all vehicles
  • Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested
