Description:

Under the direction of the Senior Transportation Engineer, the incumbent is responsible for performing a wide variety of engineering related duties and tasks. Duties include acquiring field pavement data, identifying and locating distressed pavement and participate in Project Development Team meetings. Using engineering concepts and experience the incumbent shall analyze the data requested by Project Development, Maintenance Design, or other Caltrans Departments to discuss the findings and strategies. Participate in annual meetings regarding proposed Highway Maintenance (HM) projects to meet the Districts needs. Develop strategies for the preparation of plans, specification, estimates, written documents, presentations, and other related work to address Safety and Pavement Preservation needs throughout the District of the Major Maintenance Program along with the Minor “B” projects. The position is a Limited Term 12-24 months, may become permanent.
