Description:
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR OUR TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY, WE ARE SEEKING CANDIDATES WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT certification desired, PE preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and designing transportation and/or municipal projects.
- Experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Highway Technician Certifications preferred.
- Experience with MicroStation software.
Responsibilities:
- Assistant Resident Engineer/ Resident Engineer.
- Construction inspection of IDOT, Tollway, county or municipal projects.
- Assist in the field inspections of roadway and utility construction including sewer system, asphalt and concrete roadways.
- Perform and review material testing of concrete, asphalt and aggregates.
- Complete daily construction reports, manually or electronically.
- Prepare As-Built drawings.
- Design assistance on highway and site development improvements, including roadways, site grading, storm drainage, water main distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and other site utilities.
- Preparation of local, state and federal permit applications.
- Assist in the preparation of design plans, specifications and quantities.
- Other duties as assigned.
