Description:

Garver is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Dallas, TX to continue the tradition of providing quality service to our clients.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Registered Professional Engineer, Texas preferred, must be able to obtain Texas PE within 6 months of employment
  • 5-10 years of related experience
  • Must have previous experience in municipal or TxDOT roadway civil engineering design, specifically horizontal and vertical geometrics. Storm Drain, Waterline, and Sanitary Sewer line design is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MicroStation (Geopak or InRoads). Experience in MicroStation Open Roads or Open Roads Design a plus

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects
  • Familiarity with the design standards of various municipalities located in North Texas
  • Ability to design a municipal project from beginning to end without a lot of supervisor input.
  • Ability to get projects from the design phase thru the bidding process, and thru the pre-construction process.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on municipal roadway and drainage projects such as major thoroughfares, collectors, residential, and alleys.
  • Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control plans, safety features, maintenance of traffic plans, and small diameter water and sanitary lines.
  • Assignments will also involve tasks associated with leading or producing a set of construction documents including design, drafting, quantity computations, specifications, cost estimates, client coordination and meetings, coordination with subconsultants.
  • managing task assignments for younger engineers ensuring quality and schedules are being met.
