The role holder will be a key team member delivering an operational risk oversight framework and use of operational risk management tools (risk event reports, reviews, RCSAs and KRIs).
They will work with teams across the department to ensure compliance with policies and good governance practises are in place. Prior experience in financial services would be beneficial but all previous work experience will be considered in line with the skills required.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Familiarity with Operational Risk management and it’s applicability to financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with Data Protection regulation and it’s applicability to financial institutions

Responsibilities:

  • Support team to develop the 1st line frameworks for operational and conduct risk management and embed effective governance in Savings & Treasury.
  • Engage with Risk & Compliance functions to ensure that changes and internal policy developments are understood and translated into implementation plans for the business.
  • Provide direction and advice to the business on Close Brothers’ operational risk policies, procedures, and standards; and as a key SME on Data Protection.
  • Perform Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) process in line with Group Standards. Work with new and existing departments to create, review and iterate on the risk register, in response to MI such as risk events
