We are looking for someone who is passionate about the role our treatment plants in supporting the community and environment and is experienced in developing and bringing to life strategic plans and asset management strategies within the water industry. If you have the following skills, get in touch:

  • 5-8 years experience in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Have an engineering or related science background with transferable analytical and planning skills.
  • Strategic thinker, who is able to bring together concepts and people to develop integrated outcomes for our treatment plants.
  • The ability to plan, initiate and review asset management and sewage treatment strategies, programs, and projects.
  • Ability to quickly build effective working rapport with stakeholders to influence decision making, negotiate positive outcomes and ensure business and customer expectations are achieved.
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a range of key stakeholders including senior management, asset teams, consultants, and partners.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Reporting into Luke Curran (he/him), Manager of Treatment Plant Planning, you will be responsible for developing and implementing medium and long-term strategic plans for our sewage, recycled water and stormwater treatment plants and reuse schemes, as well as managing asset management plans to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance. You will lead projects from preliminary stages through concept & functional design, actively monitor environmental and regulatory policies, and provide technical assistance to project development and maintenance teams. Your expertise will contribute to the optimisation of asset performance and ensure Yarra Valley Water provides the best outcomes for community and environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement medium and long term strategic service and performance plans for our treatment plants and reuse schemes
  • Support our Asset Management Framework through development and delivery of treatment plant asset management plans, maintenance and renewal programmes.
  • Manage projects during preliminary & planning phases of capital delivery, including scoping investigations, developing concept and functional designs, and preparation of business cases.
  • Facilitate and participate in cross functional teams to define problems, identify opportunities, and develop solutions.
  • Be a point of technical assistance during project development/delivery and maintenance activities.
