We are looking for an experienced Support Officer (Kaitautoko Whakawhanaunga ā Tiriti) to join our Whakawhānaunga a Tiriti/Treaty Relationships Team.

Responsibilities:

As part of the Council’s commitment to its relationship with our Te Tiriti partners, we are looking for a Support Officer to work alongside our Principal Advisor and Te Tiriti Relationships team.

As the Kaitautoko you will:

  • Organise hui and functions
  • Take minutes, format, collate, and distribute documents
  • Oversee diary and email management
  • Respond to customer enquiries promptly and accurately
  • Process Purchase Orders
  • Complete other administrative duties as required

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei: To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A competent level of proficiency in te reo Māori and knowledge of tikanga Māori. Consideration will be given to those at all stages of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga development depending on their knowledge, skills and experience in other aspects of the Job Description
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organisational skills including finding pathways to more efficient operational systems
  • Well-developed ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Experience in performing administrative tasks to a high level of efficiency
