Truck Diesel Mechanic
Location: Brackenfell, Western Cape
Salary: R28 000 – R38 000 CTC including Medical Aid Allowance + Provident Fund
Are you a skilled Truck Diesel Mechanic looking for an exciting opportunity? Our client is seeking a qualified individual to join our team in Brackenfell, Cape Town.

Qualifications:

  • Matric certificate
  • Relevant trade test (e.g., Red Seal in Diesel Mechanic/Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy workshop environment
  • Specific technical knowledge and skills related to trucks and “bakkies”
  • Knowledge of yellow plant, (beneficial trucks, small plant, and bakkies)
  • Valid driver’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’s license (essential)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working hours: 07:15 to 17:00 - There is a standard rotation for Saturday mornings with the team where staff on duty must be in the workshop.
  • Conduct breakdown repairs, services, and maintenance on trucks and bakkies at various sites across the Western Cape, as well as in the main workshop
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs promptly to minimise downtime
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained
  • Be available for field service and breakdowns, including extended hours as needed
  • Uphold high standards of quality in all work performed
  • Always adhere to safe work practices
  • Handle administrative duties related to the job
