THE OPPORTUNITY

Right now, we have a Fixed Term Full-time opportunity for a Truck Driver MR Gang to join our maintenance team based in Yass, NSW. We are seeking those that reside within a 50km radius from the Yass depot as you will be on call when required. You will carry out the duties of a Road Worker Grade 3 and will also be able to:

• Competently operate Light and Medium Rigid vehicles (with a GVM of greater than 4.5 tonnes)
• Tow any trailers that their vehicle is rated to tow
• Operate a HIAB or similar truck mounted crane
• Carry out general road worker labouring duties of a Road Worker Grade 3

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver who has the capability to work under limited supervision and has experience in maintaining a safe and injury free workplace for all employees while operating in a high speed, high traffic volume team environment.

You have sound experience operating a HIAB or similar truck mounted cranes and experience undertaking physical labouring duties. You’ll also hold:

• Current Medium Rigid Vehicle License.
• Current Construction Industry White Card.
• Traffic Controller Card – Implement Traffic Control Plan, or ability to gain within 3 months of employment.
• Traffic Controller Card – Prepare Work Zone, or ability to gain within 3 months of employment.
• Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver’s license.

You take pride in your ability to effectively communicate with other workers and members of public and are dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment. Your Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing, training or ticketing requirements as directed.
To be successful in this role, you will also be prepared to work outside regular working hours (day+night works when required), attend after hour call-outs, and prepared to travel extensively throughout the state and work at locations away from the base station including camping away from home when needed.
Whilst not required, experience in operating plant (excavator, bobcat, padfoot/smooth drum roller) is advantageous but not essential.
