Description:

We have an opportunity for an ST3+ Level Trust Doctor to join our Emergency Medicine Department at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
This is a general post within our department with opportunity to work across all areas to gain the experience in a busy department and enhance their CV’s and acquire advanced skills in emergency medicine.
Main duties of the job
The post will include a mixture of service and special interest. The specialist interest programme will be tailored to the individual needs of each applicant and you will be assigned a Consultant mentor.
You will be part of the middle grade junior doctor rota and will pick up other clinical activities according to current UK Practice. The average hours of duty for the rota are equivalent to or up to 48 standard duty hours per week.

The successful candidate will take part in all aspects of the work of the department under the supervision of the Consultants. The candidate will participate in “shop floor” work assessing and managing the patients and review patients on the observation ward. They will also be encouraged to supervise and manage junior medical staff and Emergency Nurse Practitioners if deemed competent by the supervisor and the faculty development group.
You will be expected to participate in the weekly teaching.
The successful candidate will participate in the 24 hour “shift” cover duty roster which provides emergency cover at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. It is envisaged that the candidate will be on the clinical fellow or the pre-registrar rota
