Description:

SKILLS

  • A minimum Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or higher, along with certifications in Provide First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • A current AMSA Medical applicable to your Certificate of Competency
  • A valid MSIC or ‘Job Ready’ MSIC Application (or proof of ability to obtain)
  • Previous experience in towage operations will be highly advantageous, showcasing your familiarity with vessel operations and industry best practices
  • Demonstrated alignment with our culture of respect, integrity, safety, and excellence, both in your professional conduct and personal ethos
  • A collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively within a team and foster strong relationships with external clients
  • Proven capacity to perform under pressure, particularly during emergency scenarios

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise conveyance of information
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and fault-finding, coupled with a proactive approach to addressing challenges

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining operational standards of all machinery, ensuring peak performance at all times.
  • Conducting maintenance and repair tasks on marine equipment, including emergency interventions, while adhering to prescribed maintenance protocols.
  • Providing detailed maintenance and operational reports to support informed decision-making.
  • Promptly identifying and reporting operational defects to facilitate swift resolutions.
  • Upholding Svitzer’s policies and statutory obligations, prioritizing quality assurance and safety protocols.
  • Engaging in ongoing safety, skills, and competency training, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with fellow crew members, providing assistance on deck as needed.
  • Monitoring and enforcing work health and safety standards, promoting a culture of safety excellence.
  • Contributing to operational enhancements through proactive participation in improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations in day-to-day operations.-
