Description:
Join a growing team in Newmarket, ON, as a TBM Mechanic specializing in Tunnel Boring Machines. This role is crucial for those skilled in mechanical and fluid power systems, providing essential maintenance and repair services. Technicians with journeyman certifications such as a 421A or 433A are encouraged to apply! Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and assemble mechanical and fluid power systems on tunnel boring machines.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pumps, drive systems, and gearboxes.
- Utilize rigging and hoisting equipment for lifting heavy items.
- Operate general shop equipment such as forklifts and lifts safely.
- Communicate effectively with management, supervisors, and engineering staff.
- Ensure work complies with engineering drawings and safety standards.
- Manage and dispose of hazardous materials properly and set up safety equipment as needed.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of mechanical and/or hydraulic experience in industrial, production, or construction environments.
- Proven ability in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical repairs, particularly on Tunnel Boring Machines, Heavy Duty Industrial, or Mining Equipment.
- High school diploma required further certification or training in related fields is advantageous.
- Strong familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and creating detailed repair reports, with adeptness in MS Office.
- Experienced in using hand/power tools and operating heavy equipment like forklifts.
- Demonstrated Mill Wright skills or abilities in industrial multi-craft and mechanical trades.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment, adhering to company and industry standards.
- Detail-oriented and organized with a high degree of urgency and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working outdoors.
HJ1 Compensation:
- $30 to $50 per hour based on experience and qualifications

Shifts:
- Day Shift, 7:00AM – 5:00PM, Monday to Friday.
- Overtime available and paid after 44 hours/week.
