JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

In Advanced Mechanical Design, we design and test innovative solutions for the future of our business. In this role, you will help us make advances in aircraft component and module design, with a focus on the Turbine Frame module between the high- and low-pressure turbine. This role is a team leadership design role and is vital to the development of our next generation of commercial aircraft engines, like the RISE Open Fan or other advanced architectures. This position has the flexibility of a fully remote working setup or an optional hybrid schedule (working in the office / working from home).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline with profound industrial experience in the field of mechanical design.
  • Proven track record in delivering on complex programs and ability to work in cross-functional global team in multi-cultural environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to advance the technology state of the art and ability to generate innovative solutions.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities:

  • As part of GE Aerospace’s advanced technology and product development programs, develop mechanical designs for assigned hardware and modules that satisfy program and internal design requirements.
  • Integrate collaboratively with global and diverse teams from multiple disciplinary functions such as thermal design, aero design, and systems design.
  • Communicate risks within their module and components to appropriate stakeholders to help drive to collective decisions on how best to proceed as a diverse team.
  • Create innovative solutions that benefit the assigned hardware and overall module to meet broad design objectives.
  • Complete module design reviews and prioritize work for the rotor module across all design engineers and cross-functional activities.
  • Mentor and assist engineers in their design reviews, drawing releases, setting quality requirements, assembly analyses, and other activities.
  • Suggest areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches / programs to make those advancements.
