    In your new role as Turn Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and communicating with various departments, above the wing and below the wing, to consistently achieve and maintain on time performance. The role is responsible for driving the Precision Timing Schedule (PTS) with all parties involved in Qantas departures, monitoring and maintaining turns and providing accurate and timely information to the Qantas Duty Manager. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing coaching where required to all teams involved in Qantas departures, and escalating trends in behaviour that impact on time performance to the Qantas leadership team. If you have strong aviation experience and excellent stakeholder management skills, this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities –

  • Coordinate and drive on time performance through adherence to PTS
  • Monitor performance of all departments against PTS requirements, proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Identify trends and implement solution-based actions to achieve set targets
  • Lead the daily shift briefing, liaising with all department leads to understand requirements for departure
  • Meet with the operating Captain and CSM on their arrival to gate for an introduction and departure briefing
  • Create a sense of operational urgency amongst all team members involved in the Qantas departure, whilst maintaining a focus on Safety.
  • Proactively identify issues and solutions to ensure critical tasks do not impact on time performance
  • Provide on the job coaching and mentoring to team members to ensure they are aware of the PTS and their impact on driving on time departures
  • Assist the Airport Manager or Duty Airport Manager (where applicable) to ensure that the emergency plans are regularly reviewed for currency and amended to reflect changes.
  • Assist the Airport Manager or Duty Airport Manager (where applicable) in conducting emergency training/exercises in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Following a Safety incident, determine the need and coordinate all investigations within the business or at the request of Qantas Safety, document event in Intelex

You’ll have –

  • 10 years airport operations experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence others

  • Strong customer service experience
  • The ability to multi-task
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to remain calm and considered in high pressure situations
