We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused engineer. You will undertake maintenance and certification within scope of authorisation. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Level 4 (Aircraft Technician Certifier B1.3 Independent Inspector)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or restorable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
Applicants must be able to satisfy the US Government ITAR and EXIM requirements.
Employment may be contingent on the satisfactory result of criminal and/or other background screens, which require the collection and transfer of personal information.
This role will be based at Holsworthy.

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

As an AME B1.3 Independent Inspector, you will ensure aircraft are airworthy in accordance with prescribed aviation standards. Responsible for directly supporting Maintenance Managers in the execution of maintenance and aviation related duties by providing holistic tactical level task co-ordination, personnel management, and supervision for a group of maintenance tasks or GAT and/or personnel. Carry out Error Capture(Independent Inspector) Inspections.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake aircraft maintenance and certification within scope of MAML
  • Task Sign-off and Certification of Maintenance within the scope of their authorisation in accordance with AFCAMAN, Book IV, Chapter 3 – Task Sign-off and Certification of Maintenance
  • Ensuring they are aware of and comply with all relevant Warnings, Cautions and Instructions for their prescribed task
  • Not proceeding past any point in the task where an Error Capture (EC) inspection is required on own activities
  • Conduct Error Capture (Independent Inspector) Inspections where required for work completed by other maintainers
  • Informing their chain of command when they, or other personnel, are subject to psychological (state-of-mind related) or physiological (physical-related) factors that adversely, or may adversely, impair their ability to perform maintenance or GAT
  • Only operating test and support equipment they are authorised to operate
  • Using only approved and serviceable tools, ground equipment, test equipment and materials
  • Adhering to tool control procedures in accordance with AFCAMAN, Book IV, Chapter 8 – Tool Control and local procedures
  • Ensuring all serviceability criteria for components and parts are met in accordance with the relevant authorised data before fitment
  • Evaluating the adequacy and efficiency of maintenance activities and proposing changes as required
  • Preparing and submitting defective or surplus components and materiel for return to stores
  • Completing and submitting associated documentation for support equipment where applicable
  • Ensuring all follow-on maintenance requirements have been identified and documented.

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • DASA issued B1.3 MAML without E62 Supervision exclusion
  • Platform specific safety familiarisation course (or equivalent)
  • Competence assessment on the task being authorised
  • System or component specific courses for component level maintenance
  • An understanding of Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief (PBED) principles
  • Excellent understanding of WH&S requirements
  • Excellent experience as an Independent Inspector in a Defence Aviation environment.
  • Excellent understanding of the effects of Human Factors in Maintenance.
  • Tertiary qualifications (Certificate IV or above) in Aeroskills – Avionics, from a recognised institutio
