Description:
We are currently seeking a full-time Machine Technician II for our Ultra Optics Division located in Brooklyn Park, MN. Ultra Optics is the industry leader in premier quality coatings and the equipment used to apply scratch-resistant coating to ophthalmic lenses. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team!
Job Summary
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Pay Rate: $22-$26/hr. - Variable based on relative experience.
Machine Technician for the manufacture and repair of coating machines. Assemble new equipment to stated specifications and adhere to standard operating procedures, repair and recondition used equipment. Assist with shipping and other shop activities.
Duties:
- Assemble equipment for customers use and assure proper operation of equipment by performing test procedures.
- Repair and recondition used equipment.
- Continually review and improve processes to simplify jobs.
- Assist with shipping and other shop responsibilities.
- Exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals that requires safety training.
- Provides proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers. Attends in-house or Walman sponsored training meetings when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent and relevant work experience
- 3 years of mechanical assembly experience (Please note Medical assembly experience is not considered relative to this position)
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
- Ability to work on simultaneous projects
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision
