Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE)

  • Project Management:
    o Manage digital transformation projects supporting business functions in formulating Business Requirements for the digitalization of services through process analysis and business case proposals.
    o Harmonize requirements from various business lines to achieve standardization, reusability of components and economy of scale, reducing lead time.

o Coordinate the pool of external developers per service line across WFP internal functions and UN Agencies, monitor performance and ensuring ensure knowledge sharing and retention within WFP.

  • User Experience and Design:

o Ensure customer journey excellence with a consistent UX/UI tailored to service uniqueness and stakeholder needs.

o Cooperate with solution designers and system architects to ensure digital designs cover business requirements and are future-proof.

  • Customer Focus:

o Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering digital solutions that meet user needs and expectations.

o Act as a point of contact for stakeholders to address concerns and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

o Monitor the performance of digital solutions and projects, using KPIs and metrics to measure success.

o Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project progress, performance, and outcomes.

  • Documentation and Compliance:

o Maintain updated digital solution documentation, including dependencies, connections mapping, user access and roles, data matrix, and product roadmap.
o Ensure development follows WFP guidelines and directives, aligning with relevant stakeholders.

o Support the development and rollout of security measures, including penetration tests, vulnerability scans, disaster recovery simulations, load tests, and cloud infrastructure analysis.

  • Data Management:

o Ensure a common approach to data availability for internal and external reporting tools and on integration layers for internal and external data exchange.

  • Budget and Resource Management:

o Maintain a master development plan with forecast and actual costs to inform budget planning and optimization.

o Support WFP IT technical supervision and internal approval governance.

  • Business Continuity and Risk Management:

o Interface with TEC for platform fault preparedness to ensure business continuity of services.

o Mitigate reputational risks using innovative tools and processes to prevent platform defaults.

  • Coordination and Collaboration:

o Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment of digital initiatives with organizational goals.
o Foster a collaborative environment across various business lines to enhance digital project outcomes.
o Engage with UN agencies to leverage best practices and integrate solutions across the wider UN system.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

As this position will be remotely based, in order to be eligible for this position, the candidate must have consistent and reliable internet connection from their remote location.
The candidate selected is expected to work under UTC-1 and UTC+3 time zone

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Completion of an advanced University degree in Information Technology, Business administration, Liberal Arts or related field, or First University Degree in a related field with additional years of relevant professional experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum ten 7 years post graduate experience with project management.
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in digital solutions work
  • Proven track record of planning, leading and executing related projects.
  • Experience in corporate environment.
  • Experience in coordination with stakeholders and guidelines harmonization.
  • Experience in gathering business and user requirements.
  • Ability to manage budget, resources and risks.
  • Previous experience in working within the UN system is a plus.

JOB PURPOSE

The Management Services Division (MSD) seeks digital solutions to meet the organization’s growing demands and drive digital transformation initiatives. The two UN Booking Hub digital product manager Consultants will work within the MSDD branch to support digital transformation projects critical for the efficient functioning of various service lines, including Accommodation, Mobility, Aviation, Asset Management, Facilities, Fleet, Travel Management, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, and Environmental Sustainability.
We are looking for two experienced Digital Manager to oversee the development of current and new digital solutions to innovate service provisioning, simplify business processes, increase accountability, create efficiency gains, and foster a data-driven decision-making culture.
