About the role

Several unaccredited registrar / Principal House Officer (PHO) positions are available for highly motivated clinicians to:

  • Participate in the provision of obstetrics and gynaecology services at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
  • Be planning a career in obstetrics and gynaecology with a keen interest to gain experience in a tertiary centre as an unaccredited trainee/ PHO
  • Coverage of the after-hours roster (weekends, evenings, nights) in concordance with the clinical capability framework of the department and with the Medical Officers Certified Agreement. The afterhours roster is shared amongst the registrar/PHO team with consultant support.
  • Provide a consultative service to other medical staff both internal and external to the department and RBWH, consistent with level of training.
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation at clinical meetings including morbidity and mortality and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Self-monitor own education needs developing strategies to address these in collaboration with clinical supervisors.
  • Contribute to the training and education with the department - with active involvement in clinical handovers, maternity and gynaecology clinics
  • Actively participate in research and audit activities with a dedicated research team to assist.
