QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years working full-time in an underground mine environment
  • Experienced in installation of ground support using a jackleg & stoper, jumbo, macLean bolter
  • Experience operating scooptrams, scissorlifts, and other underground equipment
  • Shotcrete/concrete/construction experience would be considered an asset
  • Slinging / rigging experience would be considered an asset
  • Must be prepared to adhere to all legislated regulations and company Health & Safety policies
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable and able to commit to a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation
  • Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team
  • Preference will be given to those who reside in Northern BC and encourage candidates identifying as indigenous decent to apply

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid Canadian Passport
    If this position involves frequent air travel to and from the work site. Applicants must meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work at the remote site camp. You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 21 days on site, 21 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing. The successful candidate will be required to cross the USA land border to access site, therefore the required travel documentation including passport will be required.

Responsibilities:

The Underground Development Miners on our remote project in Northern BC is responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Follow all policies and processes at the mine site and underground
  • Must be prepared to adhere to all legislated regulations and company Health & Safety policies
  • Perform the role safely and ensures Health & Safety is the number one priority
  • Installing underground rock support (bolts and mesh)
  • Installing mine services
  • Operating various pieces of underground mining equipment Maclean Bolter, Jumbo and Jackleg
  • Performing underground construction related work
