Underground Production Supervisor
Where will you work: Onsite – Colonsay, Saskatchewan (3 miles South Junction Highway. 16 & 2, Colonsay, SK S0K 0Z0 Canada)
Responsible for execution, planning, and directing underground operations activities in coordination with other site functions to safely maximize asset and personnel utilization. Conduct audits for safety, training and ground conditions during work execution. Foresee and react to any barriers that may present challenges to safely achieving planned daily/weekly targets and effectively remove barriers to ensure daily targets are met safely. Stay up to date with current mine plan, adjust as necessary and effectively communicate with cross shift and applicable stake holders.
What you’ll do?
- Lead by example, promoting a strong safety culture among team members.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Collaborate with safety professionals to implement best practices.
- Utilize safety tools such as FLHA (Field-Level Hazard Assessment) audits, LEGO’s and workplace audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all phases of production.
- Champion environmental initiatives within the mine.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies
- Promote waste reduction, energy efficiency, and responsible resource management.
- Supervise underground mining activities, including ore extraction, conveyance operation, and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor production targets and adjust schedules as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments (geology, engineering, maintenance) to optimize production processes.
- Utilize data-driven insights to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct regular field visits to observe operations firsthand.
- Address any safety or environmental concerns promptly.
- Engage with front-line workers to understand their challenges and provide support.
- Use SafeStart during safety talks to enhance understanding and engagement.
What you’ll need:
- High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of relevant experience or 2-year technical program with 2+ years of experience required.
- Technical or Engineering Bachelor’s degree with at least 1+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Step-up, leadership, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a diverse team.
- Knowledge of underground potash mining processes, ground conditions and mitigations and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with FLHA audits and other safety tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
