UNDERWRITING TRANSFORMATION CONSULTANT - MOTOR
- Apply your Motor Underwriting expertise to NFU Mutual’s largest scale transformation programme, influencing change outcomes and leaving your mark
- Play a key role in designing and building NFUM’s new Policy Administration System
- This is a hybrid role with 80% homeworking and 20% in Stratford Upon Avon
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a general insurance professional with extensive experience in Motor Underwriting and wider General Insurance Underwriting. You will be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of Underwriting risks and best practice as well as having strong knowledge of the UK insurance market and what trends are likely to have an impact on our business.
In addition, you will be able to evidence the following:
- The ability to ‘think out of the box’ and articulate a forward-thinking point of view as to how we adopt change and design effective processes
- Confidence to make effective judgments that may have long-term consequences, sometimes based on limited information
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
- Effective communication and influencing skills
- Ability to constructively challenge viewpoints
If you have prior experience with process improvements, a change or a transformation project, or a PolicyCenter build that would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.

Responsibilities:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced GI professional to join NFU Mutual and become part of our internal change programme focussing initially on our Motor Underwriting offering.
This role will see you take a lead role in representing Underwriting, as part of a wider Programme team, in the design and implementation of a new Policy Administration System. You will have the opportunity to apply your Underwriting expertise and judgement to enable the delivery of the programme’s objectives thus making a real impact whilst maintaining effective management of insurance risk.
As part of the varied workload on offer, you can also expect to be involved with translating underwriting appetite into workable rules and requirements, collaborating with wosrkstreams across the Programme to support defining policy management processes, operating procedures and influencing resolutions in favour of encouraging continuous improvement and timely change. You will also be supporting the broader programme on Underwriting matters.
You’ll promote and champion implementation by providing input into the design of learning materials for roll out of the new system and processes to ensure successful adoption in the affected business areas.
