Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting strategic guidance and direction, ensuring the effective implementation of commercial governance, systems, performance actions, improvements and management of liability risks and special commitments especially those related to the Energy sector
  • Accountable for the overall commercial performance and capital employed in the Unit through the utilisation of sound financial and commercial management principles and a continual review of appropriate management information
  • Aid selective focus – applying commercial priority and rigor to our target markets and prospects whilst supporting and upskilling relevant stakeholders in understanding key issues, securing sound and equitable commercial outcomes in contract negotiations, projects and disputes
  • Involvement in the selection of key project and bid staff, giving support and advice on commercial strategies and approvals to aid business development you’ll ensure we are delivering commercially robust proposals with a customer focused approach and appropriate innovation in delivery
  • Support key stakeholders in the management of budgets to deliver key financial metrics including ROCE and project profit and review Unit metrics presenting in relevant meetings and ensuring actions given and progress made
  • Responsible for unit risk register implementing actions and strategies to deal with specific areas of risk in target markets/key prospects
  • Lead anti-bribery initiatives and in general by example and in relation to ethical behaviour. commercial and risk management
  • Develop the units capability in commercial matters including that of divisional commercial managers, project principals and others to manage risk, deliver profit, develop capability and create customer relationships
  • Collaborate with unit, regional and wider group colleagues and external stakeholders to drive commercial rigour and the business through a continuous improvement and growth mindset Undertaking other such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be requested especially in areas such as Business Management Systems, Health Safety Security and Wellbeing and project management along with others that support the units Commercial Manager business growth, the evolving Energy market, our services and technologies within it
