Description:

The Upper Limb Clinical Specialist is responsible for the care of shoulder, elbow and hand musculoskeletal issues across East Berkshire. Within this part-time role (18.75 hours, 0.5 WTE), you will have a mix of clinical and non-clinical time that enables you to further your clinical, leadership, education and research skills. As the “go to” for upper limb clinical queries and complex cases, you will contribute to our comprehensive teaching and supervision plan. Working as part of a larger network, you can collaborate with your clinical specialist colleagues and our quality improvement, clinical audit and research teams to design, lead and complete projects with access to training and mentoring to support your aims. You will lead clinical supervision and this will be arranged on a 6 monthly cycle where you will rotate around East Berkshire (Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell).

You will be self-motivated and driven with expert knowledge and clinical reasoning skills that enable you to ensure that current guidelines, pathways and research are embedded in our service. You will understand the importance of clinical governance and have experience with audit to guide training needs, design protocols and deliver high quality care across multiple sites. You will be able to deliver outstanding supervision and education to bring the best out of our ambitious team. To complement the social aspect of this role and our growing opportunities for funding and research, you will also have excellent interpersonal, presentation and networking skills.
