The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS…

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 years’ experience in an analytics related field. Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years’ experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 8 years’ experience in an analytics or related field.

Walmart Luminate is the first product, which has been created to deliver actionable, customer-centric insights, empowering CPGs and Walmart merchants make data-driven decisions in a smarter, faster, and collaborative manner.
We are seeking a highly accomplished and forward-thinking Distinguished Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Distinguished Data Scientist, you will lead the development of cutting-edge business capabilities powered by AI/ML and advanced analytics within our Data Science and Analysis group. In this strategic role, you will leverage your deep domain knowledge in retail data analytics, spanning critical areas such as inventory management, supply chain analysis, assortment management, in-store operations, digital operations (including personalization and search), and customer data analytics. Additionally, you will apply your profound technical expertise in statistics, machine learning, and modern artificial intelligence techniques to drive innovation and shape the future of our data-driven solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO?

  • Spearhead the creation of new business capabilities that leverage AI/ML and advanced analytics to augment the value proposition of Luminate, and to aid Luminate users discover meaningful and actionable insights from data.
  • enhance the usability and experience of retail operations, optimize supply chain, and improve customer experience.
  • Utilize deep domain knowledge to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions across inventory management, assortment planning, in-store operations, and personalization.
  • Design the architecture of AI/ML systems, which efficiently ingest, transform, and analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights for our users. And also, ensure the scalability, robustness and reliability of these systems.
  • Establish and maintain the product capability map, and drive the creation of capabilities powered by data science and advanced analytics.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to other data scientists and data analysts, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, business stakeholders, and external stakeholders.
  • Do proof-of-concepts and provide strategic & technical recommendations in various products areas.
  • Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, conducting research to identify emerging tools and methodologies.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders on specific product areas.
  • Collaborate with product and business leaders throughout the company to ensure that technology initiatives align with business needs.
  • Document architectural decisions, design patterns, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing across the broader organization.
