As a user experience (UX) researcher on the Progressive User Research and Accessibility Services (PURAS) team, you’ll shape the digital experiences of millions of customers, agents, and employees. You’ll conduct a variety of research methods, such as card sorts, surveys, usability tests, interviews, and contextual inquiries, to understand their needs, motivations, and behaviors. You’ll uncover insights that will advise and inspire the design and development of products that are user-friendly and aligned with customer expectations. You’ll also collaborate with stakeholders, advocate for the users, evaluate design solutions, stay up to date on industry trends, and uphold ethical standards.
This is a remote position for US-based work only.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study (e.g., Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering) or a User Experience related field of study (e.g., Cognitive Psychology, Web Design, User Experience Design, Usability Science) and a minimum of six years of user experience services work experience which could include user interface design, software development, quality assurance, usability test facilitation, navigation studies. Must include experience with multiple platforms (e.g., Windows, web, telephony, voice, wireless, PDA, web-based training) and prototyping tools (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
  • In lieu of degree, a minimum of eight years of user experience services work experience which could include user interface design, software development, quality assurance, usability test facilitation, navigation studies. Must include experience with multiple platforms (e.g., Windows, web, telephony, voice, wireless, PDA, web-based training) and prototyping tools (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop)

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with implementing usable design patterns
  • Knowledge of remote usability testing tools
  • Quantitative and qualitative user research methods
  • Strong understanding of inclusive design best practices, accessibility principles, and both generative and evaluative research
  • Storytelling and presentation skills
