Description:
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Utah Valley University is seeking a student to assist the College of Technology/Computing department. Student researcher will be in the Mechanical Engineering program of the MCE Department through funding from Utah System of Higher Education (USHE), Deep Technology Talent Initiative.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Student enrolled at UVU in the Engineering Department
- Must have a great interest in signal and image processing, coding, software development, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI)
- Knowledge of signal and image processing
- Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, feature extraction, classification methods, etc.
- Rigorous experience in Python, C++, and MATLAB
- Knowledge of deep learning and big data
- Good understanding of probability and probabilistic modeling
- Knowledge of wind power generations
- Hands-on experience with the use of sensors and data acquisition
- Good grasp of the fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of software development
- Knowledge of path planning and control of drones
Responsibilities:
Will work directly with Dr. Mohammad Shekaramiz from the Engineering Department on drone-based online condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and reliability prediction of wind turbine blades using artificial intelligence. Looking for highly motived students who are willing to learn and boost their knowledge. Maximum of 10 hours per week
The primary responsibility would be to work with Dr. Mohammad Shekaramiz from the ECE program of Engineering Department on Undergraduate Research in area of automated drone-based system with artificial intelligence training for online condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and reliability prediction of wind turbine blades
