The Opportunity
Join us in this exciting newly created role which can be based out of our Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide offices! As a User Experience (UX) Analyst with Vocus you’ll work closely with Mission Leads, visual designer, technical architect and stakeholders to collect and analyse data regarding the experience of internal and external users. You’ll also use quantitative and qualitative methods, such as web analytics, surveys, interviews, and usability tests, to evaluate the performance and usability of our digital products and solutions.
The role also involves working with Mission Team members, stakeholders and users, to identify user problems, needs, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights and recommendations. You’ll be responsible for documenting your solutions to support the implementation of your recommendations. Documentation will include concepts and user interface designs for the systems, websites, mobile applications and other digital assets. Designs should focus on information requirements, user interaction/navigation and link to user process experience.
You will work in an agile framework and should have demonstrated experienced in a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder management across business unit areas and customers will be foundational to your success.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

  • Work with Mission Leads, mission teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities to optimise user experience through user-centric solutions for initiatives within their allocated Missions.
  • Conducting analysis including, user-needs analysis using human factors research techniques to analyse and develop user profiles/personas and task scenarios for target segments.
  • Working with Business Analysists to understand the information flow, interaction models and processes to and understand and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participating in workshops with stakeholders to define initiative scope, objectives, target audience and opportunities to improve user experience. Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and feedback regarding user experience, and to ensure their involvement throughout the design process.
  • Creating deliverables including prototypes, conceptual diagrams, site maps, interaction flows, storyboards, page/screen schematics/wireframes, content inventories, help and instructional copy – as required all of which conform to the organisation’s user experience guidelines.
  • Conducting user testing including usability testing, heuristic evaluation and/or other techniques.
  • Producing user test documentation and report on outcomes/recommendations to team.
  • Developing deep understanding and knowledge of user-centred-design (UCD), HCI and usability principles through own research and projects.

Ways of Working

  • Working with the GM Programs & Mission Leads to support and promote the ways of working across Vocus and participate in relevant cross company forums and delivery interlocks.
  • Working with the Mission Lead to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation, both within the Mission team and across the organization, to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the digital delivery.
  • Collaboration with the other UX Analyst and UX Designer to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation in design guidelines and practice at Vocus.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • 3 years of UX analyst experience for digital, web and mobile apps, with a portfolio of your UX analysis work and methods, such as web analytics, surveys, interviews, and usability tests.
  • Excellent grasp of UX analysis principles, methods, and tools well, and you keep up with the latest trends and best practices.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams. You’re familiar with user-centered design, information architecture and usability, digital trends and web/mobile technologies, and you can assess their suitability for business solutions.
  • You have agile project management and systems development experience, and design software skills. You are self-motivated, independent, and cooperative, and you can work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • A high level of attention to detail and creativity, and you have design, analytical, and conceptual skills for various technologies, and a commitment to learning and improvement.
  • Excellent understanding of the project cycle and program/project management. Experienced in Scaled Agile, Business Process/Service Management and have previous experience within a telecommunications / technology related business.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a complex matrix reporting environment with multiple projects and interrelated dependencies.
