Based in West Perth, this role will rotate through our Project Accounting, Finance and Tax teams. These functions are fundamental for Fugro’s success; supporting the business from a financial management, risk management, compliance, strategic planning and performance evaluation perspective.

The Opportunity
This role forms part of our 12-week paid summer Vacation Program, that runs between November 2024 – February 2025. Fugro’s Vacation Program is a key recruitment strategy for our future Graduate offers and creates a platform and opportunity for you to gain hands on experience to determine if this career direction is for you, whilst equally showcasing your ability, motivation, and attitude to our team.
As a Vacation Student – Accounting & Finance, you will be rotated through three areas by spending 1 month with each team. You will be involved in:

Month 1 - Project Accounting / Cost Control:

• Assist cost controllers in monitoring project costs
• Preparing monthly project forecasts and variance analysis
• Processing, sales invoices, preparing ad-hoc project financial reports & writing procedures

Month 2 - Finance:

• Going through the workflow of month-end closing tasks from a GL perspective

Month 3 – Tax:

• Assist with various tax compliance work and tax-effect reporting
• Assist with various tax advice to the business

About You

We are interested in taking applicants from the following courses.

• Major in Accounting

Your success in securing this role will require:

• Ideally be in your penultimate year of your degree
• Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel
• Good verbal communication, interfacing and writing skills
• Curiosity and high attention to detail
• Good teamworking skills
