The WEP Clinical Tax Specialist is the subject expert responsible for providing support to the rest of the business in all tax and VAT matters, ensuring all of our operations comply with the rules and regulations of each of the jurisdictions in which we operate through internal communication and education.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a plan to manage the Value-Added Tax (VAT) for the entire group.
  • Review existing operations in UK, US, Europe and Asia to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with VAT legislation.
  • Continuous improvement of the group’s VAT processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and operating efficiently.
  • Manage the statutory VAT reporting requirement for the different jurisdictions in which we are registered, including UK, Ireland, Belgium and Germany.
  • Advising/training internal stakeholders, providing sound advice for existing operations and advising on new bids.
  • Communicating VAT risks succinctly and clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Engaging in proactive and regular contact with key internal stakeholders and their teams to improve awareness of VAT.
  • Escalating risks internally within the team as appropriate.
  • Support with end-of-year tax returns as required.
  • Deputise for Senior Financial Accountant.
