REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
- 3 -5 years of mine engineering (including operational) experience. Would be an asset but not required
- Be technically competent and have a good understanding of Mine Ventilation Principles and Design
- Strong Ventsim Visual Skills
- Strong Deswik Skills – (CAD, IS and Scheduler)
- Able to mentor and motivate the ventilation team.
- Have strong communication and people skills.
- Able to impact and influence in order to gain the alignment of the Technical Services team, operations, and Corporate Ventilation SME.
- Ability to effectively establish priorities and help to align upcoming work to planning staff.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE
Provide direction and focus from the ventilation group to help achieve and surpass the mine’s safety and production targets and to add value to the operation. This position will mentor and motivate a ventilation team that works effectively and efficiently with other departments. Evaluate and stage the ventilation system to ensure long term safety and production goals can be achieved and sustained.
