Verafin is a cutting-edge software company focused on delivering next generation fraud and money laundering solutions to financial institutions across North America. Our rapid growth and continuing success mean we have an opening for a Data Validation Senior Specialist to join our team.
As our Data Validation Senior Specialist, you will work as a consultative partner to Verafin customers, 3rd party audit firms, and examiners. Your role will include aiding and supporting these stakeholders with model and data validation projects of the Verafin application. We are looking for a self-motivated customer facing specialist to provide exceptional service and build rapport with key contacts as you complete complex customer projects.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support Customer Onboarding responsibilities including:
  • Complex Data Validation during/after key data sources are integrated into Verafin’s data model
  • Coverage Assessments with Customers
  • Working cross-functionally with other teams on project implementation and issues remediation
  • Training customers on data validation methods within the application
  • Work closely with customers to facilitate and consult on complex model validations/audits/exams
  • Work with data integration team to understand how core banking data is being integrated with Verafin’s data model
  • Support training 3rd party audit firms and examiners on the Verafin application
  • Perform internal investigations in response to compliance inquiries, with emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations
  • Working with our Product Writers as you continue to develop and improve internal and external documentation related to data validation
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, and OFAC
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and build client relationships

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience in the financial industry (commercial/retail banking) preferred
  • Strong domain expertise in regulatory compliance, financial data, transaction monitoring, and model validation
  • A comprehensive understanding of core banking and ancillary data systems
  • Ability to embrace and support growing business demands in a changing environment
  • Confident, articulate, and professional communication abilities
  • Experience with data warehousing or data integration would be considered an asset
  • Experience with AWS Big Data technology would be considered an asset
  • Experience in SQL (Structured Query Language) or Python would be an asset
