Description:

WE HAVE A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY FOR A VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST ON A 6-MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT TO JOIN OUR TEAM HERE AT MARKET CROSS VETS IN EDINBURGH!

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, covering Monday-Friday with 1:4 weekends.
Our reception team are the first faces that our clients see and play a hugely important role in the day-to-day running of the practice.
You will be working at our practice in Edinburgh, our Capital and a truly amazing place – full of history, culture, entertainment and offering excellent transport links.
As our new Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. You will need to be able to work well within a team as well as working individually, however, support from your peers is always on hand. We are a professional and personable team working in a very challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, and interesting and where no day is ever the same!
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and also show empathy towards everything that is thrown at you, from sharing the excitement of a puppy’s first visit to the vet or comforting a client who has received some bad news regarding their pet.
Day-to-day duties of the role will include answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, dispensing medications, taking payments and providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving to the clinic.
Previous Receptionist or customer-facing experience is essential. Previous veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial. Most importantly, we are looking for a motivated and organised individual who works to a high standard. You will be expected to work as part of a team and be able to work individually when necessary
The salary for this position will be in line with the National Minimum Wage +3% cost of living increase.
We know that benefits are key and that your personal benefits priorities will differ from others. Holidays, pensions, discounts, paternal leave, fee payments or share save schemes might be your priority. Or, if easier, you can find a list on our careers site CVS Employee Benefits- what we can offer you. (cvsukltd.co.uk)
Are you passionate about making pets a priority? So are we! Take a look at our short film to recognise the remarkable work that our vets, nurses, care assistants and receptionists do on the front line every day in the UK: CVS Ode to Veterinary Professionals
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept and progress applications from candidates without the Right to Work in the UK as we cannot provide visa support or sponsorship, as our non-clinical roles do not meet the criteria set out by the Home Office to be eligible.
Please do not delay in submitting your application for this role. With some roles that are urgent or receiving a high volume of applicants, we may interview and conclude the process prior to the closing date of the advertisement.
