ABOUT YOU:
Whatever your area of expertise, we are looking for a person that has great attention to detail and is technologically savvy to take on this role and provide quality advice to our customers and the community. You will have:
- A professional qualification in the building industry (see position description for more detail)
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a customer service environment providing information and advice
- An understanding of the Building Act & Regulations, the New Zealand Building Code Compliance Documents, including New Zealand and Australian Building Standards
- the ability to accurately interpret, apply and communicate the requirements, over a range of situations
- Ability to make appropriate decisions with regard to the building code performance clauses, using sound judgement, comprehensive research & clear reporting techniques.
- Experience with Connect and Smart Map is desirable, however comprehensive training will be offered.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Working as part of our Building Consenting Unit, you will provide customer service excellence as you facilitate high quality consent applications before they are allocated to our processing teams. You will be:
- Providing building information and technical decisions on a variety of applications involved in building, plumbing, drainage, planning and property matters
- Responding to phone enquiries as required
- Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications of building projects quickly & efficiently
- Vetting and allocation of residential/commercial building consent applications.
