Description:

Job Purpose: dnata is one of the world’s largest air and travel services providers; offering ground handling, cargo, travel and catering & retail services at over 130 airports in more than 30 countries across six continents. dnata Cargo offers premium cargo handling services for passenger belly cargo and freighter cargo.
The Vice President dnata Cargo Business Support will develop, lead and oversee the dnata Cargo Business Support function, to enable the delivery of the divisional strategy and associated performance targets. In this role you will direct the structure, plan and performance of the Cargo Business Support unit comprised of systems, technology, standards, facilities management, workforce planning, analytics and the PMO. You will be accountable for the identification and implementation of technology and product solutions which contribute to growth in revenue, margin, and market share across dnata Cargo UAE.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning of resources, equipment, technology, in preparation for increases in cargo volumes and introduction of new products
  • Define the technology and product strategy for dnata Cargo UAE and drive innovation to ensure the division competes successfully as the industry evolves
  • Accountable for assessment of suitable technology solutions and the facilities roadmap
  • Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and change management function to ensure the project portfolio aligns to strategic direction and project management governance model
  • Design, implement and maintain the organisational model and structure for the delivery of the division, ensuring a focus on expertise, efficiency, governance, and succession planning
  • Oversee the implementation of policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls to ensure internal policies and external regulatory and legislative requirements are fulfilled
  • Develop and monitor the Cargo UAE KPI framework
  • Define performance objectives consistent with the global cargo strategy and Cargo UAE strategy, and manage reporting of KPIs to measure revenue, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Manage the analytics function for Cargo with a focus on business insight and performance
  • Represent the business at a senior level in the industry, participating in key industry forums and panels. Drive and champion collaboration across the dnata Cargo global community
  • Manage and lead the Business Support team to ensure ongoing skill development and competence-building to deliver customer-focused solutions, engagement, and alignment to business objectives
  • Manage budget for current projects, systems, and resources. Drive adherence to financial control targets in the deployment of resources and systems within the division
  • Monitor benefits realisation from new product and system implementation, contributing to profitability of the division

Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • A degree or honours and 12+ years’ relevant industry experience in Logistics/Cargo or Air Cargo
  • Experienced leader of people, including virtual teams and roles involving indirect influence and senior stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated experience managing large cross-functional projects with accountability for strategic planning, budgeting, and delivery
  • MBA or project management qualification (PMP) is preferred
  • Advanced commercial and financial acumen with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with powerful ability to persuade, influence, negotiate, and manage stakeholders, internally and externally, at all levels
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the regulatory environment relating to air cargo
