Overview:
Accountable to the Senior Vice President, FP&A, this role advances Novant Health’s strategic goals and objectives, including growth, expansion, diversification, and new capability development, by supporting M&A, Strategic Investments, and Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting on behalf of NHE. The VP, whose activities compliment and align with Novant Health and NHE’s broader corporate development strategies and objectives, influences and supports the development of NHE’s strategic priorities and works closely with Novant Health and NHE leadership to assemble, develop, and retain the appropriate resources to execute on the company’s strategic plans.
The VP is responsible for supporting NHE’s inorganic growth strategy, including identifying, evaluating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, other forms of business combinations, divestitures, and strategic investments. Additionally, the VP is responsible for supporting NHE’s Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring, financial reporting, portfolio and risk management, managing NHE’s utilization of Novant Health’s corporate shared services, and initiatives to expand NHE’s capital capacity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate degree, preferred.
  • Experience: 5 Years experience M&A, capital planning, and/or alternative asset management experience, preferably at an investment banking, private equity, or corporate development / strategic finance role focused on healthcare services, required.

Responsibilities:

TEAM LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT

Responsible for hiring, training, and leading direct report team members that support the execution of projects and initiatives

Responsibilities:

Accountable to the SVP of FP&A and other senior leaders serving as a strategic thought partner to ensure successful execution of growth initiatives that advance the organization’s strategic objectives
M&A
Support all phases of the transaction process, including target identification, evaluation, and execution
Implement or refine, as the case may be, processes and best practices to enhance the organization’s programmatic M&A capabilities, prioritizing effectiveness, speed, and scalability
Monitor pipeline of M&A opportunities and cultivate network of external advisors, investment partners, and capital providers
Partner with internal stakeholders to align M&A pipeline and priorities with the organization’s strategies, opportunities, capability gaps, and vulnerabilities, and leverage internal subject matter expertise for business and operational
due diligence and synergy assessment
Support pre- and post-closing transition planning / coordination
Clear and concise communication of the transaction’s strategic rationale, benefits, risks, and considerations, as well as the underlying quantitative analysis, to NHE Senior Leadership
Manages confidential and strategic projects/initiatives that are of time-sensitive importance.
Drives results on strategic initiatives and special projects that reinforce the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities
Ability to think upstream and downstream in an effort to optimize the bigger strategic picture
