Responsibilities:

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to the strategic direction and leadership of Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL), its subsidiaries and related companies (the “Enterprise”).

  • Business Leadership – You will collaboratively lead the evolution of the Health, Safety and Compliance business unit to ensure value for the local co-ops and the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS). This includes cultivating collaborative relationships with local co-ops and fostering productive relationships with business, and local communities.
  • People Leadership – You will provide leadership as a strong advocate and role model for FCL’s values, vision, mission, brand and Co-op’s Employee Experience (You’re at Home Here).
  • Executive Leadership – You will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for:
  • Health and Safety and the review of the current Health and Safety program, structure, policies and practices across FCL including the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC), and determine best practice going forward to enhance our culture and commitment to health and safety across the organization.
  • Energy Roadmap and the path to compliance to reduce emissions from our transportation fuels, while maximizing our fuel producing assets, and offering a competitive and sustainable path that cares for the environment and meets the needs of Co-op members, customers and Western Canada. This portfolio includes the major projects division that is responsible for the design, engineering and construction of the projects within the Energy Roadmap.
  • Sustainability where by 2030 we establish Co-op as the sustainable choice through collaborative solutions across all business lines in the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.
  • Business Management – You will lead strategic business planning, risk management, goal setting, branding, and talent management processes within the Health, Safety and Compliance Business Unit. Collaboratively work with all Business Unit’s in collectively enhancing relationships with local co-ops.
  • Innovation – You will provide leadership, oversight and executive sponsorship to key strategic projects and initiatives that support and enable the Health, Safety and Compliance Business Unit as a trusted business partner to its varied customers and stakeholders, most specifically member local co-ops. Lead and foster new collaborative ideas to improve the Enterprise and local co-op business.
  • Risk Management – You will provide leadership to the Enterprise in the identification, assessment and potential mitigation of key business risks including (but not limited to) labour, regulatory changes, alignment of operation and governance risks.
