We’re seeking a future team member for the role of ‘ Vice President II, Accounting’ to join our newly created Global Institutional Accounting team . This role is located in Wrocław, Poland - hybrid.
Global Institutional Accounting (GIA) provides portfolio accounting and reporting as a value-added service to BNYM clients which includes delivery, to agreed deadlines, of an audited market valuation for a portfolio or group of portfolios, together with supporting transaction details.
Accounting Service Experts team’s primary focus is to work in partnership with our clients and be responsible for the production of daily & monthly valuations and the provision of the complete and independent investment reporting package, in accordance with service agreements, internal policies and legal / regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

Manages a small to medium team of Investment Reporting Administrators responsible for conducting accounting services on behalf of assigned clients including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports. Resolves escalated issues from team members. Manages the performance of assigned staff and sets team priorities.
Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contributions, their professional growth, and their ability to function with their colleagues as an effective team. Manages the performance and sets area priorities.
Supports Group Manager to identify and streamline business operations. This includes but is not limited to enhancing controls by standardizing relevant business processes, managing/monitoring those activities to ensure quality and accuracy of data, as well as supporting key business programs which drive greater operational efficiencies and superior client service.
Complete activities related to the accurate and timely delivery of services on behalf of assigned clients which includes determining NAV, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, or preparing supportive reports.
Responsible for the completion of in-depth data analysis of accounting and leading engagements across business areas. Identifies trends, provides complex root cause analysis and executes on recommendations.
Play an active role within the team sharing the collective responsibility to ensure all client SLA’s are met and client requests addressed.
Serve as a high-level escalation point for complex situations and ensure that they are brought to a successful resolution.
Partner with supervisors and managers of the other groups in the firm to assess issues and strategize improvements. Supports the development of procedures and processes of the Accounting function within the business unit.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE’RE SEEKING THE FOLLOWING:

Excellent collaboration and communication skills (English min. B2/C1 level).
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum of 5 years of experience within similar area).
Financial services background required. Experience in institutional accounting processes advantageous, particularly knowledge of Institutional Accounting System (IAS) on a daily or monthly valuation basis. Understanding of local financial reporting requirements (UK GAAP, SORP amongst others)
Excellent technical and numerical skills, with accurate data manipulation, analysis & checking of work.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, in particular manipulating Excel spreadsheets.
